Meet Your Instructor: Jess
Jess, the founder of Aerial Yoga Life, brings a wealth of experience and passion to this training. Her journey with aerial arts began in 2007, but it was in 2017 that she rediscovered her love for aerial yoga in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This reignited passion led her to create Aerial Yoga Life, bridging the gap in pose knowledge for both teachers and students.
With over 500 hours of teacher training in aerial yoga and traditional yoga, Jess has coached students one-on-one, in group classes and online. Her background in health science, homeopathy, and kinesiology provides a unique, holistic approach to aerial yoga instruction.
Jess’s mission is to help you build a solid foundation in aerial yoga and continually improve your practice, combining physical techniques with mental and emotional well-being.

Prerequisites
Experience with the hammock: It’s important to have some familiarity with the aerial hammock before the training. We highly recommend taking at least 10 in-person aerial yoga classes prior to the course. This will help you feel more comfortable and confident during the training.
Practice the Foundational Class: To hit the ground running, I will be sending you a digital version of the Foundational Class. I ask that you watch and practice the Foundational Class at least 5 times before the training begins as you’ll be practicing teaching this sequence during the course. Getting a jump on memorizing the sequence will greatly boost your confidence and progress during the training.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this training suitable for complete beginners?
While the training welcomes those fairly new to aerial yoga, it’s not suitable for absolute beginners. One prerequisite is having some experience and familiarity with the hammock. This should not be your first time on an aerial hammock, as lack of experience may limit what you gain from the training.
What is the maximum number of participants in the training?
The space is limited to 12 participants to ensure personalized attention.
What is the daily schedule for the training?
The training typically runs from approximately 8am to 4pm, though some days may vary slightly. A full schedule will be emailed to you within 2 weeks of the training’s start date.
Will I be certified to teach aerial yoga after completing this training?
Yes, this is a 50-hour training accredited by Yoga Alliance.
What's the difference between this training and other aerial yoga certifications?
My training focuses on accessibility and community building. You’ll learn how to adapt your classes so that everyone in the room feels supported and confident on the hammock, regardless of their experience level. I’ll also emphasize strategies for building a strong community in your classes and keeping your students coming back for more. This approach not only makes you a more effective teacher but also helps you create a loyal and engaged student base.
How much teaching practice will I get during the training?
You’ll practice teaching throughout the training every day. I believe in learning by doing, so you’ll have ample opportunities to apply what you’re learning and build your confidence as an instructor.
Is there any additional work required besides the 40-hour in-studio training time?
Yes, there are 10 hours of non-contact work to be completed. This includes self-practice, self-reflection, and observation of 2 Aerial Yoga classes at Moonshine studios.
Do I need to bring my own aerial yoga hammock?
No, all hammocks are supplied at the studio.
What should I wear during the training sessions?
Wear comfortable yoga attire. I recommend longer sleeves and yoga pants rather than shorts, as you’ll often experience wraps around your legs and other limbs.
Are meals provided during the training?
Meals are not provided, but water and light snacks will be available. There are also several cafes and food places within a few minutes’ drive of the studio.
Is there any pre-work I should complete before the training?
You’ll be given access to a 60-minute online class prior to the training, which is required viewing. The more familiar you are with this content, the more you’ll benefit from the training.
What happens if I can't attend all days of the training?
Full attendance of all 40 hours of studio time is required to gain certification. Please ensure you can commit to this before booking.
Is there a payment plan available for the training fee?
Yes, payment plans are available. However the certification will not be issued without the training paid in full.
What ongoing support is available after the training?
Post-training support is available through Aerial Yoga Life, which offers an online studio with live classes and an on-demand library. Trainees receive an exclusive discount for this service. You’re also welcome to email for additional support or book one-on-one private Zoom sessions.
Is there a minimum attendance for the training to take place?
Yes, a minimum of 4 students must sign up for the training to proceed.
What if I want to join but don't want to become an Aerial Yoga Instructor?
That’s absolutely fine! This training can deepen your personal practice and understanding of aerial yoga, even if you don’t plan to teach.
