Adarsh Williams Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) offers a comprehensive program leading to professional certification as a yoga teacher. With 40 hours of intensive practice and interactive workshops, you’ll gain the confidence to teach yoga at all levels. This course focuses on the teaching techniques of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga, covering safe hands-on adjustments, class conduct, and deepening your understanding of yoga theory with minimal theory (less than 1%) and a focus on practical application (99%). Each workshop adheres to a consistent framework for a cohesive and engaging daily experience.
About Adarsh Williams
Adarsh Williams is an internationally known and respected Ashtanga Yoga teacher. After three years living abroad in Mysore, India, Adarsh received Authorization directly from the late Ashtanga master Sri. K Pattabhi Jois in 2004, then upgraded to Level 2 by Paramguru Sharath Jois in 2009.
Adarsh began practicing Ashtanga Yoga in 1998, and began teaching in 2000. In addition to extensive studies with the Jois family, Adarsh has has completed numerous certifications with luminaries such as Richard Freeman & John Scott in yoga, and training under Dr. Kelly Starrett as a Movement & Mobility Specialist.
In addition to his Ashtanga teachings, Adarsh has created and trained teachers in numerous innovative programs including Banded Mobility, Active Stretch, Sculpt Yoga, to name a few. His YouTube channel has become a popular resource in the fitness community and has led to the release of three feature-length instructional videos: Smart Stretch – Active Isolated Stretching, Smart Stretch – Assisted and Ashtanga Yoga – Strength, Mobility, Skill, and his first book: Smart Stretch – A Visual Guide To Active Isolated Stretching.
Highly regarded for his sensitive, yet deep hands-on style, Adarsh has experience working with a wide variety of students of diverse abilities, ages, and backgrounds. With a deeply held belief that anyone can develop a personal yoga practice, he is an energetic teacher who infuses his enthusiasm for practice and hard work in others. Adarsh is now based in The Netherlands where he teaches daily classes at his studio Ashtanga Yoga Groningen.

Upon successfully finishing this training, you will be awarded a Certificate of Completion for the 40-hour Teacher Training program. This certificate is valuable as it allows you to register for Continuing Education hours with the Yoga Alliance. It’s important to note that the official Ashtanga Yoga Certification is granted exclusively by the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India. This esteemed certification necessitates over 10 years of practice at the Institute and the completion of the Advanced Ashtanga series. Acknowledging the practical challenges associated with meeting these stringent requirements, Adarsh provides short Teacher Training Courses. These courses serve as a means to impart knowledge and practical skills in Ashtanga theory to both students and teachers. Our aim is to inspire and equip individuals for the practice, understanding that these shorter courses are a more accessible path for many aspiring practitioners and educators.
Even though we strongly encourage students to attend all classes, there is an online Ashtanga program on the AdarshYoga platform to catch up on workshops and lectures in the event that a student miss hours that need to be made up.
